This policy explains what personal data SeyApp Technologies (Proprietary) Limited (“SeyApp”, “we”) collects when you use the SeyApp mobile application, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy describes the SeyApp mobile application. This website itself collects no personal data and sets no cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
1. Who is responsible for your data
SeyApp Technologies (Proprietary) Limited, registered in the Republic of Seychelles, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact details are at the end of this policy.
2. What we collect
Account information. Your name, email address, phone number and password. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the basic profile that provider releases to us.
Location data. Your device location, used to place your pickup on the map, estimate and quote fares, match you with a nearby driver, and follow a trip in progress.
Payment information. When you pay by card, your card details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. They are transmitted directly to Stripe and SeyApp never receives or stores your full card number. We retain a payment reference, the last four digits, the card brand, and the amount and status of each transaction.
Documents you upload. If you apply to drive, we collect your driving licence, vehicle documents and insurance. If you hire a car, we collect a photograph of your driving licence, which is shared with the hire company for that booking.
Device and usage information. Device model and operating system, app version, a push notification token, crash and diagnostic data, and a record of the bookings you make and the screens you use.
Your communications. Messages you exchange with drivers, merchants or our support team through the app.
3. Location, including in the background
Location is the most sensitive category we handle, so we describe it separately.
If you are a passenger, we use your location while the app is open and in use: to set your pickup point, quote a fare and show you your driver approaching.
If you are a driver, the app collects your location while it is running in the background, but only while you are online and available for work or engaged in an active trip. This is what makes dispatch and live arrival estimates possible; without it, a passenger cannot see you coming and the platform cannot offer you nearby jobs. Background collection stops when you go offline.
You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. Doing so will prevent most of the app from functioning, because the service is fundamentally location-based.
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis

| Verify driver and partner documents | Safety, and legal obligations on transport operators | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |

| Support and dispute resolution | To answer you and resolve problems | Performance of a contract; legitimate interests |

5. Who we share it with
Other users of the platform. When you book, we share what the other side needs to complete the job: a driver sees your first name, pickup and destination, and can contact you through the app; a merchant or hire company sees the details of your order or booking.
Service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Stripe for payment processing and card storage

Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information, or where it is necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
SeyApp operates in Seychelles, but several of the providers above process data outside Seychelles, including in the European Union and the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep certain records. Those are principally transaction and tax records, and information needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. See Deleting your account for exactly what is removed and what is retained.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. Payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider. Access to personal data inside SeyApp is limited to staff who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and will notify you and the relevant authority of a breach where the law requires it.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, export it, restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Marketing emails carry a one-click unsubscribe link.
Most of these you can exercise yourself in the app under Account → Personal Info. For anything else, write to us at the address below. We will respond within one month.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, see our Data Protection notice for additional detail, including your right to complain to a supervisory authority.
10. Children
SeyApp is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 to hold an account, and at least 21 to hire a car. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
12. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy go to our privacy team, and our Data Protection Officer can be reached separately. Both are listed on the Support page.
