Seychelles is a destination for visitors from across Europe, so a large share of the people using SeyApp are covered by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR. This page sets out what that means in practice. It supplements our Privacy Policy, and should be read alongside it.
Your rights
Access. You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and for an explanation of how it is used.
Rectification. If something we hold is wrong or incomplete, you can have it corrected. Most of it you can edit yourself under Account → Personal Info.
Erasure. You can ask us to delete your personal data. See Deleting your account for what this removes and the limited records we must keep.
Portability. You can ask for the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to another provider where technically feasible.
Restriction. You can ask us to pause processing while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved.
Objection. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, and marketing is the main case, you can withdraw it at any time without giving a reason.
Automated decisions. SeyApp does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means alone. Dispatch matches a booking to a nearby available driver; it does not profile you.
How to exercise them
Write to our privacy team using the address on the Support page, from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We are not going to hand your data to someone who merely claims to be you.
We respond within one month. If a request is unusually complex we may extend that by a further two months, and we will tell you within the first month if so. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Data Protection Officer
We have appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted directly and in confidence. Contact details are on the Support page.
Complaints
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, please raise it with us first. We would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where the issue arose. Exercising that right does not affect any other remedy available to you.
International transfers
SeyApp is established in Seychelles, which has not been the subject of a European Commission adequacy decision. Where personal data of EEA or UK users is transferred to us or to our providers, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses and on the safeguards our processors maintain. The processors we use are listed in section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
